Designer: Thomas Heatherwick Studio
Thomas Heatherwick trained in three dimensional design at Manchester Metropolitan University and the Royal College of Art. He founded Thomas Heatherwick Studio in 1994 to bring together architecture, art, design and engineering. Thomas and his team work from a combined studio and workshop in Kings Cross where concept development, prototyping and fabrication take place under a single roof.
The studio’s projects embrace architecture, planning, infrastructure, urban design and sculpture. Current projects include a Rolling Bridge at Paddington Basin, a Buddhist temple in Kagoshima, Japan, and a 30 storey building in London.
